Me at the Vatican. When I was in Rome, it wasn't in the best shape. Berlusconi was prime minister. He wanted to shame his political rival, the mayor of Rome, so he ordered the garbage workers not to pick up any garbage in Rome. So the garbage dumps were all overflowing. Because Berlusconi owned the biggest media outlets in Italy, the headlines all over the news were, "Mayor of Rome lets garbage flow in the streets!" My summation of Italy: if it weren't for Italian politics it would be perfect.
I will try to post a picture of me and my travels alongside a story related to it on a frequent basis.
