Hey everyone, I am going to be taking a 37 hour train ride from 10pm tonight to 8am Jul 3 (due to the time change from Toronto and Winnipeg it's 37 hours long). I have season 1 of True Detective, Season 2 of Hannibal, the book A Tale of Two Cities with me, and there should be an amazing landscape to look at, so hopefully I won't die of boredom. If this is my last post, you'll know why.
I think trains are amazing things. I loved riding trains all around Europe, and so getting to do it here in the Americas is pretty sweet. There does seem to be a great mythology to trains, from Hogwarts, Polar Express, Atlas Shrugged and a host of other novels and films show trains as these mysterious but elegant things that can take you off to new adventures. Maybe in a hundred years planes will reach the mythological levels of trains but I doubt it. In any case, I am off!
